“Your Grace, your guests are arriving.”

Alistair rolled his eyes and leaned back in his chair to stare at the study’s ceiling in irritation. They were a mere two days from the wedding, and while he couldn’t wait to make Regina his wife, this was one of the aspects of the whole situation that he’d been dreading.

Her family, and what little remained of his, staying all together under his roof. If he could have convinced Regina to have a ceremony with just the two of them and a few servants as witness, he would’ve. However, he knew she really wanted her parents there, as well as her timid friend, Lady Charlotte, and since he was denying her the large wedding she deserved, he was willing to give her this at least.
